Bette On The Boards
Frequently Asked Questions

Before sending an email, please take the time to read the following frequently asked questions below to  make sure your question hasn't already been answered.

How can I join the official Bette Midler fan club?

Unfortunately, Bette Midler does not have an official fan club that you can join.  The only club that she ever endorsed was called the “Best On Bette” club, created in the late 70’s.  It was sadly disbanded in the mid 80’s.

Where can I find “The Bette Midler Show” on DVD?

Sadly, this concert has not been released onto DVD.  You can however find this show on VHS and Laser Disc.  It is currently out of print, but copies show up every now and then on ebay and used video stores.  Click here to see if anybody is currently offering this show on ebay.

Where can I find “Live At Last” on DVD?

What you’re looking for is actually called “The Bette Midler Show,” which is a filmed version of the same show featured on Bette’s “Live At Last” album.  See the above question for more information.

Can you help me get in touch with Bette?

No.  I have no affiliation with Bette.  I also have no dealings with any of her current employees.  You can try writing to her production company:

Miss M Productions
1636 Third Avenue, #315
New York, NY
10128  USA

Are you Bette Midler?  Will Bette be reading this email?

No.  I’m just a mere fan.  This is not a way to get in touch with Bette Midler.

How can I get an autographed photo of Bette?

You can write to:

Miss M Productions
1636 Third Avenue, #315
New York, NY
10128  USA

But the only real way to get a 100% authentic personalized autograph is having the luck of meeting her face to face and asking her to sign something for you.

Can you tell me what the Taco joke is?

Yes, I surely can.  But will I . . . of course not!  It's not something I can morally post on a public webpage for all eyes to see.  Write to me if you really must know.  I warn you in advance though, it's a very stupid, lame and disgusting joke.

Can you help me get backstage to meet Bette?

This is the most frequent question that I receive when Bette is on tour.  I would first like to emphasize that this website only deals with Bette's past career.  Considering that I don't follow her current tours on this site, I'm really not the best person to be asking.  However, with all that said, I will give the best explanation that I can.  Getting backstage is like winning the lottery; the odds are slim of it ever happening.  You really have to know somebody high up in the ranks to make something like that happen, or win a contest.  You can always try to catch her at the stage door leaving the venue though.

How can I get Bette to acknowledge me onstage / dedicated a song to me?

It's very unlikely that Bette would make an acknowledgment to you on stage, or dedicate a song to somebody.  If she did that for one person, she'd have to do it for everybody else, and I imagine that would be a lot of people to please.  It's just not going to happen.  The best thing Bette can do to please her fans is to put on a really great show for them ... I wouldn't hope for much more than that.

How did you get all those great old pictures of Bette?

I simply tracked down many of the photographers who took these wonderful photos.  Many of them have so generously shared their work with me, and with this site.  It's amazing what a little research can do.

Why do you only focus on Bette’s early career?

I focus on Bette’s early career because that's what I enjoy most about her.  As for the site, I felt there was a whole legacy left behind that was slowly being forgotten.  I wanted to try and help keep it alive for fans to enjoy and appreciate as much as I do.  And since there are so many other websites that follow Bette’s current career, I felt no need or desire to cover that on here.

What is Bette up to now, when is she touring again?

You're on the wrong webpage.  If you want to keep up with the latest, I suggest you visit Bootleg Betty.

Will you sell me some of the rare shows that you have?

I don't sell any of my material because I don't believe in making money off them - unlike some other fans out there.  I'm always happy to trade for things that I don't have - but I'm only interested in trading for other vintage materials.

What happened to all the audio you had on the site?

Well there's a full length audio show from each tour online - just visit the tour pages to find them - except for the filming of Divine Madness.  You'll also find audio clips from certain performances throughout the site, as well as album clips and promotional materials.  In regards to other full length shows and the song of the week . . . a lot of that was removed when people started selling the recordings on ebay.  I don't claim to own any of these recordings - nor did I originally record them - but I did put a lot of time into restoring, enhancing and editing the audio that is featured on this website, not to mention the time and effort spent in tracking a lot of these recordings down.  If you think it's selfish of me to try and protect my own hard work then you're welcomed to invest the same time that I did to find these recordings . . . then you can do as you like with them.

Can I help out on the site?  Do you accept submissions?

My gosh, YES!  I am always looking for help and submissions.  This site might give the impression that help isn't needed, but that impression is far from the truth!  I wasn't even alive when Bette was doing all this stuff, so it's been quite the challenge to find a lot of the materials in order to document this all correctly.  I'm always hoping to hear from fans who were there in those days, and who are willing to share their stories and materials to help make this site as complete as possible.  Please do not hesitate to write if there's something you think you can contribute to this website.  All help is extremely appreciated and fully credited.  Just write to me below and I'll get back to you.

PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS NOT A WAY TO CONTACT BETTE MIDLER
